Golder expands Brisbane operations with near-CBD move

Brisbane: Global consulting, design and construction services company Golder Associates has expanded its Brisbane office and laboratory and moved closer to the inner-city, improving client access and supporting continued growth in Queensland.

In two separate agreements, Golder has leased nearly 4,500 square metres (sqm) in Milton and West End, allowing for further expansion close to the Brisbane CBD.

Golder's Brisbane office has moved to 147 Coronation Drive, Milton, where more than 200 staff will be brought under the one roof after previously being housed in two adjoining buildings in Toowong.

The nine-year lease of 3,494 sqm includes the ground, first and third levels of Building 2 Coronation Drive Office Park, as well as 79 car spaces and signage.

Meanwhile, Golder's laboratory has also relocated from Mansfield to
28 Bank Street, West End, allowing for an expansion of the facility and bringing it close to the new office across the river.

Encompassing 892 sqm, the West End lease is for eight years with two, three-year options.

Commenting on the moves, Golder's Brisbane Office Manager, Helen Jones, said they followed solid growth in the employee-owned company's operations in the state.

"Golder Associates has been based in the western corridor of Brisbane for more than two decades, but having outgrown our premises we recognised the need to move to a larger building near the CBD," Ms Jones said.

"Importantly, we now have the ability to accommodate anticipated increases in staff levels. Having our staff under one roof and the laboratory nearby will create efficiencies and improve delivery of solutions to clients, building on our strong reputation for technical and client service excellence as shown by our record 21 BRW/Beaton Client Choice Awards."

Golder's Managing Director, Australia, Darren Watt said the move reflected the company's successful expansion in Queensland due to growing client demand.

"Brisbane is an important part of Golder's global network and this move ensures we have the right physical infrastructure in place for the future," Mr Watt said.

"Queensland has a significant role in Golder's Australasian Business Plan and we anticipate continued strong growth on the back of the state's expanding resources, construction and infrastructure sectors."
